Who We Are

Ririe Junior-Senior High School is located just outside the city limits of Ririe, Idaho. The school is part of Ririe Joint School District No. 252 in eastern Jefferson County and northern Bonneville County. The school serves approximately 350 students in grades 7-12. Grade 9-12 students that live in the boundaries of Swan Valley School District No. 92 also attend Ririe Senior High School.

 

The school's mission statement is "Preparing Students for the Future". Ririe Junior High School sports compete in the Frontier Conference of Idaho's District 6, which is comprised of Teton, Sugar-Salem, South Fremont, Ririe, North Fremont, Firth, West Jefferson, Salmon, Butte County, and Challis. The sports that are sponsored in the Frontier Conference include boys/girls cross country, girls volleyball, boys/girls wrestling, boys/girls basketball, and boys/girls track & field.

 

Ririe Senior High School sports compete in the Nuclear Conference of Idaho's District 6, which is comprised of Firth, North Fremont, Ririe, Salmon, and West Jefferson. Ririe is a member of the Idaho High School Activities Association and is a member of the 3A classification. The sports that Ririe Senior High School sponsors includes football, girls volleyball, boys/girls cross country, co-ed cheerleading, boys/girls basketball, boys/girls wrestling, boys/girls golf, girls softball, and boys/girls track & field.

 

ADMINISTRATION

Kasey Teske

Kasey Teske, Ph.D., is the current principal of Ririe Junior-Senior High School, a role which he began in 2024. He was named the 2017 Idaho Principal of the Year by the Idaho Association of Secondary School Principals while working at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, Idaho. He earned his doctoral degree from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.

Matt Harris

Matt Harris is the current athletic director at Ririe Junior-Senior High School, a role which he began in 2019. He is a three-time recipient of the Idaho Athletic Director of the Year award from the Idaho Athletic Administrators Association (2022, 2023, 2024) and also received the Marquis Ross Award from the IAAA in 2022. Matt is currently the president of the 3A Nuclear Conference and also serves on the executive board of the IAAA as the District 6 representative. He is actively involved with the Idaho High School Activities Association in assisting with the operation of state tournaments throughout Idaho. Matt also helps manage Chromebooks in the district's IT department, along with coordinating building schedules throughout the district, and working with social media in the public relations department. He also teaches introductory level CTE courses at the high school, including web design, broadcasting, and marketing.

 

Prior to moving into the education field at Ririe Junior-Senior High School, Matt spent 13 years as an on-air personality at Z103/Riverbend Media in Idaho Falls, Idaho with the on-air name of "Matty Merrill". He also spent nine years working for high school sports media group IdahoSports.com as the company's Sports Information Director and as a game broadcaster. 

 

Matt is a 2004 graduate of W.R. Myers High School in Taber, Alberta, Canada, a 2011 graduate of Brigham Young University - Idaho with a Bachelors Degree in Communications, and also holds Standard Occupational Specialist certificate from the Idaho State Department of Career Technical Education and a teaching certificate from the University of Idaho, both of which were earned in 2021. He is currently working on becoming a nationally board certified athletic administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and plans on having this certification completed before 2025.

 

While in high school, Matt was a receiver and kicker/punter for the football team, an opposite/right side hitter on the boys volleyball team, and a guard on the boys basketball team. He has also coached high school football, volleyball, basketball, and softball.
