Who We Are
Lincolnwood is a small 1A high school in Raymond, Illinois. We serve the Raymond, Farmersville, Harvel, Waggoner, and Atwater communities in the Panhandle School District. We co-op with Morrisonville Jr/Sr. High School for baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, and volleyball. Lincolnwood is the host for all high school sports except for baseball. Morrisonville is the host for all junior high sports, except for baseball. We co-op golf with Morrisonville and Pawnee. We co-op soccer, with Morrisonville, Pawnee, and Nokomis. We also co-op track and football at Pawnee.
The playing fields are an extension of the classroom. They are a place to learn and grow as young people and an athlete.
We focus on the LANCERS philosophy throughout our athletic programs:
LANCERS - Loyalty, Accountable, Now, Character, Excellence, Respect, Standards
Loyalty
Loyalty is an important thread in the fabric of a great athlete and person. Loyalty and dedication work together to create commitment. Commitment leads to self-sacrifice and love.
Accountability
Following through on what you say you will do and executing the task to the best of your ability. It also means, if you don’t get it right, then you stand up to say, “this is how I can do better” and find a way to improve.
To be accountable you need to take ownership of your role and make sure you ‘know your job and do your job’ to the highest standard, 100% of the time. It does not mean making excuses, blaming others, or whining and complaining about the work.
Accountability can only exist when you are the one critiquing your own performance. This is what all successful athletes and coaches do.
Average Programs - Accountability is top down
Good Programs - Accountability is top-down and the members hold each other to the standard
Great Programs - Each member holds herself / himself, and others to the standard
NOW
What’s Important NOW
Mistakes will be made by coaches and athletes. How you handle yourself afterwards is important.
Don’t dwell on the past, but improve and react to the now
CHARACTER
Do what they say they are going to do. Coaches don't tell athletes one thing and then do another.
Coaches are honest with athletes regarding their role on the team. They don't promise things they can't deliver.
Follow the rules as they are written and don't look for ways around those rules to have a better chance of winning.
EXCELLENCE
Excellence is a result of how you train on the field and in the gym.
It's how you choose to respond to failure.
It's a process.
Core value of an athlete and coach
Excellence is something you strive to accomplish everyday.
RESPECT
Expect the Respect - Other teams should expect to be respected when they play us; we expect to be respected because of the way we carry ourselves on and off the field
Reputation precedes us because of how we do things
Respect every facet of the game - coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, fans, family
Anything less than this would be lowering our standard of respect
STANDARDS
We don’t have rules, we have standards
Standards define our athletic program and set us apart from the rest
Championship programs have high levels of standards
We don’t lower our standards, those around us raise theirs
If you lower your standards, you lower your level of loyalty, accountability, character, level of excellence and respect for what you are doing
