Who We Are
Athletic Department Philosophy
The athletic programs at Whittier Tech High School are an integral part of the educational process. Athletics offer Whittier Tech students a positive and meaningful experience that will enhance the growth and development of all young men and women who participate.
The Athletic Department encourages all students to participate in as many different interscholastic sports as possible. The Athletic Department at Whittier Tech High School offers 17 interscholastic sport teams for those students who want to compete at the High School level and have the appropriate attitude for their respective sports. As athletes, students will make a commitment to themselves, teammates and to the athletic program to follow the rules and expectations of being an athlete. As an athlete the student will abide by the guidelines of the Whittier Tech Student Handbook and by the rules and regulations of the specific sport.
Participation on an athletic team is a privilege and not a right. High standards of conduct will be expected of students on and off the playing courts and fields. As a Whittier Tech High School athlete, students are expected to follow the rules of the Student Handbook & The MIAA State Guidelines from the time they join their first athletic team until they graduate or until the end of the last season of participation.
The Whittier Tech Athletic Department is very proud of the traditions that they have established over many years by many student/athletes,coaches,boosters & teachers who have committed themselves to excellence. As a Whittier Tech athlete, you are part of a rich tradition.
All Students participating in athletics at Whittier Tech will abide by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), Commonwealth Athletic Conference (CAC), and the Whittier Tech High School Student Handbook of Rules, Regulations & Policies.
