Mission
MISSION STATEMENT
The West Liberty-Salem Athletic Department provides educational value for our students. Interscholastic athletics promotes character traits of high regard which will lead to success later in life. These include the commitment to take one’s talents to the highest level of performance; embracing the discipline needed to reach high standards; learning to work with others in pursuit of a common goal; and adherence to codes of fair play, self-control, and respect. Athletics will also play an important role in creating a sense of community in our school while creating a positive environment in which others wish to be a part of.
VISION STATEMENT
The West Liberty-Salem Athletic Department strives to be a strong program that provides development opportunities which prepare our student athletes for lifelong success.
SPORTSMANSHIP
Athletic participation in the West Liberty-Salem Athletics Department serves as an integral part of a student’s educational experience. Good sportsmanship plays an important role in athletic competition and in the character development of the student-athlete. Therefore, we expect the coaches, players, parents, and fans to display respect, fairness, civility, and honesty. We encourage all spectators and fans to support their team and refrain from negative behaviors directed towards the opposing team and/or the officials and to display behavior of which everyone can be proud.
